The Naivedya (in Tibetan, shalze—meaning consecrated food) is a simple offering torma regarded as an offering of sublime food. Despite that intent, although the Naivedya can be made of edible materials, this torma is intended to be a permanent torma and is made of plaster, polymers, and enamel. It is found as one of the outer offerings in the Chakrasamvara, Vajrayogini, Kunchok Chidu and many other sadhanas. This Kagyu style Naivedya stands approximately 5 inches (13 cm) high and is about 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) across at the base. The smaller, simpler version is about two-thirds that size. See the Nyingma Tormas section for the Nyingma style Naivedya. For a form of a wrathful Naivedya, see Wrathful Tormas.
